Celebrating Success Through The Smith Family Sponsorship Program

Hesperia is proud to celebrate the achievements of 18 Aboriginal students from disadvantaged communities across the Perth metro area, supported through our Learning for Life scholarships with The Smith Family. These scholarships have provided students with access to vital educational resources, personalised support, and targeted learning programs, helping them overcome barriers created through educational inequity, and in turn, enabling them to thrive academically.

The Smith Family’s evidence-based, tailored approach ensures each student receives the wraparound support they need, from school supplies and programmatic learning support to vocational awareness activities and mentoring. Through this holistic approach, students have the opportunity to advance in their studies, gain self-confidence, and pursue their educational dreams.

The supported students have made significant progress in their academic and personal development, with many now set to advance in their school education or embark on career-related study and employment opportunities. Their success is a testament to self-determination, resilience, and education’s power to create prosperous future opportunities.

As we celebrate their achievements, we remain committed to empowering more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to reach their full potential by assisting them to make the most of their education and, in turn, creating brighter futures for themselves, their families, and ultimately their communities.
