Hazelmere Interchange awarded Waterwise Development Gold Endorsement

Hazelmere Interchange has been recently awarded a Waterwise Development Gold Endorsement, building on the 6Leaf EnviroDevelopment Certification achieved last year.

The endorsement, administered by the Waterwise team at Water Corporation, recognises developer efforts to promote waterwise practices in developments.

Notable features of the project include:

• Recycled Water: Each warehouse is fitted with a rainwater tank, plumbed to the bathrooms to supply recycled water for toilet flushing.

• Water Sensitive Urban Design: Each site incorporates biofiltration swales to cleanse stormwater runoff and preserve the water quality of surrounding water bodies.

• Waterwise Planting: The landscaping at each site comprises a diverse mix of native plants, carefully selected for their resilience to an increasingly hot and dry climate, which requires significantly less irrigation to remain healthy.

• Water Efficiency: Each warehouse utilises best-practice Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) ratings for all water fixtures and fittings, as set by the Green Building Council of Australia, to significantly reduce operational water consumption.
