Sandvik joins Roe Highway Logistics Park

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions has signed a long-term lease for a new warehouse at Hesperia’s 56-hectare Roe Highway Logistics Park (RHLP).

The move will consolidate the international mining equipment manufacturer’s Perth-based operations, with a new 10,500 square metre warehouse and a purpose-built workshop incorporating a high level of automation and sustainability measures.

Sandvik APAC logistics and operations manager Niels Reuvers said relocating the organisation’s warehousing and workshop operations to RHLP would improve operational efficiency.

“We are aiming to streamline our operations through just-in-time delivery, faster in-bound processing and a higher level of dispatch accuracy due to warehouse automation,” Mr Reuvers said.

“The additional capacity will support the growing demand for around-the-clock service, qualified engineers and genuine parts on demand.

“In addition, we are introducing new battery technology for the site and our materials handling system to make better use of the solar power we will be generating.”

The push for sustainability follows a $95 million investment in RHLP by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, with funding to go toward use of low-carbon building materials and solar power generation that will see the estate achieve lifetime carbon neutrality within two years.
