Sustainability Performance at Hazelmere Interchange

Hesperia’s approach to development is guided by our Sustainability Strategy, which outlines our response to sustainability focus areas. With the recent completion of five industrial developments at Hazelmere Interchange (comprising over 70,000sqm of floor space), we wanted to share key metrics aggregated across all sites at Hazelmere Interchange (aligned with our environmental focus areas) to highlight how this translates into industrial developments.

Act on Climate Change

• Low carbon concrete poured onsite – 24,700m³
• Average modelled reduction in upfront carbon – 24%
• Total reduction in upfront carbon – 8,300 t CO2e

Support the Renewable Energy Transition

• Solar capacity – 2,000kWp
• Battery storage installed – 1,375kWh
• EV charging bays – 26

Manage Consumption and Reuse of Resources

• Recycled sub-base – 6,400m³
• Rainwater storage installed – 83kL
• Average recycling rate of construction & demolition waste – 94%

Achieve a Net Improvement in Biodiversity

• Trees Retained – 46
• Seven trees planted for every tree removed
• Average landscaping area – 22%

These metrics are further validated through independent certification. An important part of our Sustainability Strategy is to independently certify the sustainability outcomes of each development. As a result, each of the five sites has received a 5 Star Green Star Designed Assessment, demonstrating each is on track for final as-built certification from the Green Building Council of Australia.
