Alex Hotel

Embracing the concept of ‘hotel as home’ in the centre of metropolitan Perth.

Alex Hotel offers boutique accommodation designed around the independent traveller ethos: small rooms, large communal living areas, environmentally conscious and ‘of the place’ in design and operation.

Project Background

Alex Hotel sits in a complex urban setting on a tight, L-shaped block with adjoining heritage buildings, dual street frontages and laneway access.

Hesperia brought together an award-winning project team, local architecture firm Spaceagency and interior design studio Arent & Pyke, to develop the hotel’s design and interiors around four key themes: the personal, the escape, the craft and the legacy. The result is a mix of intimate guest rooms and lively public spaces including a lobby café and lounge, a mezzanine lounge and honour bar, rooftop terraces and the renowned Shadow Wine Bar.

Project Details

Alex Hotel is in the heart of Perth’s cultural precinct in Northbridge, metres from the Art Gallery of WA, State Theatre Centre, WA Museum, major dining and retail destinations, and Perth’s central train station.

The 74-room hotel was thoughtfully designed to encourage guests to spend less time in their rooms and more time enjoying the hotel’s generous communal spaces and exploring all that the surrounding streets have to offer.
